For a recent multifamily residential project in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Farmboy's team curated a collection of artwork that reflects the surrounding landscape and the spirit of West Coast living.

Earthy tones, organic forms, and rich textures bring warmth and tranquility to the interiors, while references to mountain vistas, coastal forests, and rugged terrain create a strong sense of place.

Featuring works from our Vancouver-based Artist Partners, the collection feels contemporary, inviting, and distinctly local.

A quiet conversation with Asami Nakamura, a Vancouver artist working in paint, thread, and patience. Her abstract, embroidered works are made slowly and on purpose, each one a small invitation to pause.

PUBLIC ART REFERENCES: STRATEGY IN PRACTICE

Farmboy is studying how art operates within the built environment through research on recent international Public Art projects.

Highlighting three projects that demonstrates how art can operate as infrastructure:

- Structuring movement and circulation
- Shaping perception and identity
- Creating shared, collective experience over time

This is where public art moves beyond object and becomes strategic.

This is the foundation of how we design art programs. Embedding art into environments to strengthen brand, culture, and place at scale.

We’re honoured to be named a finalist in the 22nd Annual HD Awards for our work at The Dearborn Inn.

At Farmboy, we believe art should do more than finish a space. It should carry story, express identity, and shape how people experience a place. At The Dearborn Inn, our curatorial approach was rooted in building a narrative-driven collection that connects heritage, hospitality, and a renewed sense of cultural relevance.

To be shortlisted in the Art: Program or Installation category among nearly 360 submissions is an honour, and a testament to the power of thoughtful, strategic art programming.

Thank you to our team and collaborators for helping bring this vision forward.

“The primary idea of my practice is representation: documenting, celebrating and showing new ways to approach Blackness.” — Amoako Boafo

In celebration of Black History Month, we’re highlighting a favorite in the Farmboy collection: Usman 2 (2017) by Amoako Boafo.

Based in Accra, Ghana, Boafo’s signature finger-painting and collage technique creates intimate, textured portraits that challenge stereotypes and celebrate Black subjectivity.

We are privileged to work alongside this stunning artwork on a daily basis at Farmboy, and we are thrilled to observe and follow Boafo’s meteoric rise in his career.

As we navigate through the winter months, our team is embracing the seasonal blues.

Selected by Darya, our Art & Curatorial Coordinator, these works explore the depth and versatility of the blue spectrum.

The six works stand out as recent highlights from our diverse Artist Partner Program.

The art of waiting. ⏳ For Gregory Geipel (), a photograph starts long before he picks up the camera.

It’s a process of walking, researching sun paths, and waiting months for the light to hit just right.

The result? A stunning tribute to the "quiet resilience" of our urban landscape.

This month, Farmboy Fine Arts’ Creative Director, Laurenn Machin, highlights the work of Hilda Palafox, a painter who is quietly reimagining the legacy of Mexican muralism for the 21st century.

While traditional muralism often focused on grand historical narratives, Palafox shifts the scale from the monumental to the intimate, creating a visual language rooted in balance, attentiveness, and feminine interdependence.

We chose Hilda for her ability to invite viewers to pause. As she recently shared regarding her solo exhibition De Tierra y Susurros (Of Soil and Whispers) at Sean Kelly Gallery, "My work is always an invitation to look inside. To be more gentle with what’s going on outside".

We are so excited to share a closer look at our recent Fine Art Commission with artist Ben Skinner for The Stack by Oxford Properties.

For this project, we commissioned Ben to create a site-specific sculpture for the Lower Staircase that would serve as a bridge between concept and construction. The goal was to commission a piece that echoed the rhythmic geometry of the building itself while adding a layer of conceptual depth.

The result is a dynamic form rendered in iconic “Staedtler pencil blue”, an enduring symbol of precision, craftsmanship, and the design process. The sculpture features thoughtfully angled and slanted edges that evoke architectural drawings, where drafting lines suggest depth and direction.

Swipe through to see the installation process and how this vision came to life.

Todd and Laurenn spent last week on the ground at Art Basel, reconnecting with our partners and soaking up the global art conversation. We are coming home with fresh eyes and new inspiration for Farmboy.

Check out the highlights from an incredible week of art and connection. 🖤
