What a wonderful few days of singing, connection, and community. ❤️🎶

From August 23–25, singers gathered in Vancouver for the 2026 edition of Choral da Capo. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this another successful, sold-out year of the program.

One of our participants, Carly Benson, captured the experience in a poem, and we’re delighted to share those words as we look back on three memorable days together.

What drives Canadians to attend arts and culture events? 💡

Find out during our next webinar on Thursday, June 18, as we unpack the latest findings from the Arts Response Tracking Survey (ARTS).

Together, Danielle Hitchcock (Twin Design, Hamilton Fringe), Nazanin Shoja (BC Culture Days | Fête de la culture), Scott Tresham (Symphony Nova Scotia), and Nik Nanos (Nanos Research) will draw on this data to discuss how organizations can strengthen audience connection as we head into peak season.

Highlights from yesterday's Broadway Chorfest concert in North Vancouver, featuring Pacific Spirit Choir, Harmony Mountain Singers, MomChoir, Burstin' with Broadway, and our BCCF Chorfest 2026 Workshop Choir. Yesterday's concert brought together 145 young singers from across British Columbia as the non-auditioned BC Teen Choir (105 singers under the direction of Kitbielle Pasagui) and auditioned BC Youth Choir (40 singers under the direction of Scott Leithead) took the stage at Key City Theatre.

Representing communities from Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, the Okanagan, the Kootenays, and beyond – including Victoria, Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Richmond, Surrey, Kelowna, Lake Country, Port Moody, Cranbrook, Kimberley, and Calgary – these talented young musicians have spent the past few days learning, growing, and creating music together.

The result was an inspiring performance filled with passion, energy, and beautiful singing, showcasing the remarkable talent of young choral artists from all over our province.

Congratulations to all of the singers, conductors, accompanists, volunteers, and organizers – including the all-youth BCYC management team – who made this convergence possible.

There are countless reasons we're excited to see the BCCF Chorfest Banquet return this year, but near the top of the list is that it's a long-standing tradition to feature an intimate tableside performance by the BC Youth Choir (BCYC).

The BCYC's banquet performance provides a captivating preview of the artistry, energy, and musical excellence the ensemble members bring to their full concert the next day. Enjoy these video highlights – almost the next best thing to being at the Cranbrook History Centre's Royal Alexandra Hall last night!
