🎶 Upcoming Event at the Canadian Music Centre BC 🎶
This Sunday, May 3, 2026, the Canadian Music Centre BC is pleased to host a special afternoon featuring the BCRMTA Student Composers’ Club in the Murray Adaskin Salon in Vancouver, from 2:00–5:00 PM.
The event will showcase eight outstanding young composers in a series of masterclasses with guest composer Rodney Sharman. Originally planned for six participants, the exceptional quality of submissions led to an expanded program.

Masterclass Session 1 (2:15–3:15 PM)
• Liam Schachte – String Quartet No. 1
• Raphaela Boucher – Whispers of the Wind
• Paolo Roland Self – Odyssey
• Jakob Constible – Factory Kat

Masterclass Session 2 (3:45–4:45 PM)
• Bodi Minardi – Invention in C # Minor
• Cristen Bao Sicoli – A Balloon Amongst the Clouds
• Luca Bao Sicoli – A Temperamental Cat
• Linus Schlosar – 22 – G Minor (Blizzard and Nightmare)

The BCRMTA Student Composers’ Club, chaired by Kathleen Feenstra with the support of Lillian Chan, Pam Smirl, and Mark Johnson, meets monthly via Zoom during the school year. The club provides a welcoming and creative environment where young composers develop their musical voices through composition sharing, discussion, and mentorship from guest clinicians.

The Canadian Music Centre BC is proud to support this initiative and to provide the Murray Adaskin Salon as a space for emerging composers to hear their works performed and workshopped in a professional setting. Events like these reflect CMC BC’s ongoing commitment to fostering and celebrating new Canadian music.
We look forward to welcoming students, mentors, and community members for an inspiring afternoon of music and creativity. 🎼
