🍊 Theatre Terrific Archives: Looking back at "Naked Oranges" 🍊
We are diving into our production history to celebrate a piece that beautifully captures the heart of our mission. Directed in 2006 by Susanna Uchatius, "Naked Oranges" brought together an incredible, inclusive ensemble of diverse artists to explore the beautiful, messy realities of the human experience.Driven by a blend of humor, original music, and imagery, the play dove deep into a world of human vulnerability, fears, and misgivings. It pulled back the layers on the fragile nature of human connection, reminding us that even when the risk of failure, misunderstanding, or rejection is present, simple acts of kindness still hold the profound potential to change everything.
Inclusive theatre isn't just about sharing a stage, it is about sharing our universal human struggles and finding connection through them.

ID: A group of nine individuals, part of a theatrical cast, poses playfully on a wooden stage against a solid black backdrop. The central motif tying the group together is a bright orange citrus fruit, which nearly everyone is holding, biting, or interacting with. Arranged at varying heights from standing in the back to sitting on the floor, the cast members wear vastly different attire, ranging from modern jeans and a scarf to a n**e bodysuit, a regal white robe, and one shirtless individual. Their dramatic and expressive poses, including one person sticking out their tongue with oranges held to their ears, give the portrait a lively theatrical energy.
