Our goal is to create a small community of brilliant women to share knowledge of Cuban culture and the joy of dance! After many sports I finally found Cuban dance where we can connect our body, mind and soul to keep energy flowing within us. Nao invites you to the world of Afro-Latin-Caribbean rhythms. Be ready to move your body to her energetic and inspiring class! She is a certified Canfitpro and Zumba Fitness Instructor, a Cuban salsa performer and a travel designer with 20 years of travel industry experience. Nao was born in Tokyo, Japan and has always sought out awesome places, culture and music. She has been a competitive junior swimmer, a tennis club captain, a marathon runner and a finisher in numerous triathlon races including the Hawaii Ironman. Nao began her dance training in 2003 in Vancouver and was soon a performing member in a belly dance troupe. As her interest shifted to Afro-Caribbean culture, she trained extensively in the rich world of Afro-Latin-Caribbean dance, learning from talented local instructors in Salsa, Son, Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Cotemporary, Hip-hop, Dancehall and Soca. Currently, Nao has an active performance schedule as a lead dancer with Salsabrosa, Vancouver’s all-female Cuban rueda team. She would like to thank Arassay Reyes and Julio Montero for being a constant source of inspiration and her partner for his love and support over the years. Nao passed the Canfitpro Fitness Instructor exam in early 2014 and continues ongoing training in group fitness programs such as Boot camp, Zumba, Pole Dance and TRX in order to fulfill her dream of providing an effective programme combining the best fitness practices with the special flavor of Afro-Latin culture.
