Finally, ‘Whips and Snips’ from Vancouver Island in February is ready to share with you
Sketchy little watercolour and ink design, incorporating native plant findings from our village. Including: arbutus leaves, alder cones, evergreen huckleberry, cedar, several conifers and beautiful glaucous manzanita that is slowly creeping north with climate change. Not drawn to scale, and holly berries are not native, but added for colour 🙂

This cute little abstract apple design was a by-product of preparation for a small watercolour class I taught in February this year.
It was a fun activity, and it wasn’t until revisiting it later in the year that I decided to trial it as a colourful addition to the tea towel collection.

Esteemed by Inuit groups for intelligence, and the patience and resilience for survival in extreme arctic conditions, Polar bears face head on the threat of the warming northern ice cap. Their environment literally melts from under them, threatening their survival.
