A new home deserves a floor that's built to last from day one.

We recently completed Jay's 2-car garage in Surrey, finished with our Cabin Fever flake system. Even though this was a brand-new home, there was still a lot of work required before we could install the coating.

One thing many homeowners don't realize is that new concrete doesn't always mean ready for coatings.

This garage required extensive hand grinding around the edges, corners, and tight areas to ensure every inch of the concrete was properly prepared. That extra effort is what creates a strong mechanical bond and helps prevent coating failures down the road.

Long garages create some of the most dramatic transformations.

For Vikas in Ladner, we installed our Tidal Wave flake system in this long 2-car garage, completely changing the feel of the space from front to back.

One of the things we love about longer garages is how the flake system creates one continuous, seamless finish that makes the entire area feel brighter, cleaner, and even more spacious.

Back at Wexxar for another phase—and another major transformation.

After completing the first 10,000 sq ft section, the team invited us back to tackle another 3,000 sq ft of their facility. We truly appreciate the trust they've placed in us and are excited to continue transforming more areas of their warehouse.

Just like the first phase, this floor had seen years of heavy industrial use and came with its own challenges.

The existing coating had to be removed, damaged concrete needed repairs, and the entire surface required extensive preparation before we could begin installing the new system.

To improve both durability and safety, we created contrasting coloured pathways, making it easier to separate pedestrian walkways from the main work areas while giving the warehouse a clean, organized appearance.

Commercial projects demand a different level of preparation.

We recently completed these commercial washrooms for Glen at a theatre in Deep Cove, finished with our Creekbed flake system. If you're ever visiting the theatre, make sure to stop by the washrooms and check out the floors!

The biggest challenge was the existing coating.

The washrooms already had an epoxy floor installed years ago, but it had begun to fail in multiple areas. Rather than coating over the problem, we removed the failing material and started from a solid foundation.

That meant extensive diamond grinding to remove the old coating and properly prepare the concrete before installing the new system.

Not every garage starts with good concrete... but every garage deserves a great finish.

This 2-car garage for Bal in Surrey came with one of the biggest challenges we see on older homes—very old, rough concrete that had deteriorated over the years.

Right in the middle of the garage was a large damaged section that required extensive concrete repair before we could even begin installing the coating system. Taking shortcuts here would have meant a weaker floor later, so we spent the time restoring the surface properly.

Once the repairs were complete, we transformed the garage with our Nightfall flake system, giving it a clean, modern appearance while adding the durability needed for everyday use.

Sometimes the best decision isn't the one you planned—it's the one that makes the most sense.

For Puneet's 2-car garage in Surrey, the original plan was to install a metallic floor. After discussing how the garage would actually be used, we recommended switching to a full flake system instead.

Why? A flake floor provides better grip, improved slip resistance, and is much more forgiving for everyday garage use, making it the ideal choice for a busy family garage.

The existing concrete had definitely seen its share of years. It was very old and required extensive repairs before we could begin installing the new coating system. As always, taking the time to repair and properly prepare the surface is what ensures the finished floor lasts for years.

The final choice was our Wombat flake system, which gave the garage a clean, timeless look while providing the durability needed for everyday life.
