✨ : Unlocking the Power of Behavior in Acting!✨

As actors, we often hold onto dialogue like a life raft, but it's the behavior and emotional aspect that truly shape a performance. Let's delve into a powerful example from the film "The Hundred-Foot Journey."

In this pivotal scene, the young Indian cook, played by Manish Dayal, offers to make an omelette for Helen Mirren's character, the Michelin-starred restaurant owner. No lines, just behavior. The magic unfolds as their relationship shifts through meaningful actions, not words.

Watch how their dynamic changes as they work together in the kitchen. The subtleties in body language, expressions, and interactions reveal a story without the need for dialogue. It's a masterclass in the art of acting!

Remember, as actors, understanding and controlling your physical and emotional instrument is key. Join us at MDS Actors to explore character, relationship, and most importantly, physicality and behavior. Experience the true essence of working "out of control, in full command."

Discover the power of silence and let your behavior speak volumes! 🎭✨

Actor friends, check out this episode of by and with and . It’s a great episode on the red flags of abusive acting teachers.
I’m mentioned in the episode as the “retired teacher” who left a former student searching for another challenging class. My former student ended up in a class that was tough for all the wrong reasons. 🥹(Link to the episode in bio) I was riveted. I can’t wait for part 2.

Also, I’m no longer retired. I’m back teaching with kindness and loving every minute of it.

I firmly believe acting class should never be abusive, not under any circumstance. Teachers who abuse their students either don’t know how to teach or are up to no good. Watch for red flags. 👀

🌟 Saturday Sermon! 🌟

🎭 This video is a lesson in acting “out of control, in full command.” It’s a long one so grab a coffee and let’s chat about acting.

I will break down the foundation process of the MDS Actors' Studio. Using a scene from “Frasier,” we’ll explore the power of physical behaviors in conveying the truth of a story without relying David Hyde Pierce using any dialogue. Acting is physical.

🎬 Inspired by Darryl Hickman, the MDS Actors' Studio process empowers actors to work "out of control, in full command." We breathe life into a script, creating characters, relationships, and settings. Using our intellect, imagination, and instinct, we craft interesting, human physical behaviors that tell the truth of the story.
