FOR GLASS // All about the music

“What we’re really interested in is how the sonic and the physical world collide into each other, or constantly intermingle. It’s not that the dancers are just dancing to the music. The dancers and the musicians are one—they are with each other.” — FOR GLASS choreographer Or Schraiber

Schraiber and Bobbi Jene Smith have been spending a lot of time with Philip Glass’ music, which sets the scene for this week’s anticipated world premiere. The minimalist composer’s String Quartet No. 3 (Mishima) and String Quartet No. 5 are played live by Vancouver’s Microcosmos Quartet, coalescing into a sublime live experience.

Two sleeps until our season finale opens at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Four performances only. See you soon, Vancouver!
