Your drums don’t need to be louder. They need to slap.
Most beginner drums sound flat because nothing is gluing them together or giving them weight. These 3 techniques fix that fast, all inside Ableton:

1. SSL glue on the drum buss to lock the kit together
2. Parallel crush with an 1176 or Devil-Loc for weight and s***k
3. Clip the buss to tame transients or add saturation.

Not only do these tips make your drums hit harder, they buy u headroom. More headroom means your limiter doesn’t have to work as hard to get loud, so your whole master opens up instead of sounding squashed and choked.

Stack them in order and trust your ears over the meters. Save this for your next session and tag a producer who has weak ass drums 🫣😂
