Katie Blecker Studio Original artwork, custom pet portraits, greeting cards, and more I'm a freelance artist and illustrator based in Vancouver, BC.

My work typically depicts enchanting imagery of flora and fauna, and is designed to evoke a sense of wonder, warmth, and a bit of magic. I primarily paint in gouache, acrylic, and ink. Lately I've also been exploring digital illustration through Procreate. From 2015-2020 I worked as a professional textile artist, specializing in dyeing and breakdown for many large film and television productions.

I was part of the team at the Dye Dept that was recognized for “Excellence in Crafts - Textiles” at the CAFTCAD awards for our work on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Season 2. You can also find me practicing and teaching yoga (www.katiebleckeryoga.com). I live and work on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples.

A recent artwork. Made slowly, layer by layer over weeks.

Photos of an art doll called Grieving Moon. It’s made with organic cotton fibre, tinfoil, glue, wire, and paint. The long arms and legs articulate and the figure is designed to sit on a shelf ledge. The doll is a celestial light blue with rosy cheeks, wearing an aged brown robe with a pleated collar.
