Experience the unexpected at Vancouver Opera’s special Magic Flute Miscast cabaret on October 27 at 7:30pm, at The O’Brian Centre for Vancouver Opera. 🎭

Dive into an evening where Mozart’s enchanting melodies meet an unparalleled twist. What happens when beloved arias are voiced in ways you’d never dream of? Pure, unadulterated hilarity! Yep, we’re throwing gender norms out the window and having some campy fun.

We hope to see you for our Concerts on Tap performance with Mark McGregor on flute and Adrian Verdejo on classical guitar. They’ve prepared an intoxicating (😉) program of sun-drenched works by Astor Piazzolla, Celso Machado, Gabriela Ortiz, and Toru Takemitsu.

Concert admission is by donation at the door (cash or card), and wine flight is $22 plus tax. The winery has a delicious selection of picnic charcuterie and cheese available for purchase as well if you’re interested in enjoying something to eat during the evening!

Come and enjoy a summer’s eve with us on August 10! We are so excited to host musicians and at for their very own Concerts on Tap performance. Stay tuned for more exciting updates for this show… tomorrow we will visit the winery to do the wine tastings and pairings!! Can’t wait to line up something crisp, delicious and fitting for this Latin American flute and guitar program.

As always, tickets are by donation. Seating is first come first served until capacity is filled. We recommend you arrive early to secure your seat and purchase your drink of choice (wine flight or whatever!).

Tonight!! Our final Piano Diaries performance of the summer takes place at Margaret Mitchell Plaza which is a beautiful greenway walking path on Napier Street and Commercial Drive adjacent to the Britannia Community Centre. We would love to see you there! 8pm, complimentary admission.

The final sunset piano recital in our summer series is coming up this Wednesday, July 26th!

Join us at Margaret Mitchell Plaza, formerly known as Napier Greenway, at 8pm on Wed July 26! Mina McKenzie has prepared a recital with some of her favourite music to share. It’s going to be another beautiful night! We hope to see you there!

Next Wednesday, July 26th 2023, we are proud to present our final soloist in our summer series “The Piano Diaries.” Meet Mina McKenzie! We hope you can join us for her sunset piano recital in Margaret Mitchell Plaza at 8pm! Bring a chair!

Mina McKenzie began her piano studies at the age of 5 at the British Columbia Conservatory of Music under Susan Ouyang.

Both a soloist and a chamber musician, Mina has performed concerts and recorded works with Redshift Music Society, UBC Robson Square Concerts, SUM Gallery, Canadian Music Centre, 100.5 Radio, CiTR Radio, Vancouver Women’s Musical Society, and Canadian Music Week (Maria’s Records/Paradalis Studio). She has performed as a soloist with the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra and the Coquitlam Youth Orchestra.

She is a prize winner of numerous competitions such as the Pacific Youth Piano Festival, Vancouver Women’s Musical Society Competition, Architecture of Music Competition, 27th Bjorn & Lori Hareid Annual Senior Secondary Competition, Yarilo Contemporary Music Society Scholarship Competition, and the BC Performing Arts Festival.

She is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance under Dr. Corey Hamm.

Tomorrow evening!!! See you at the stunning Burrard View Park for our second piano recital of the summer! Wednesday, July 19th at 8pm. A reminder that it is absolutely complimentary admission, or by donation. All are welcome! We recommend that you bring a blanket or chair to make the evening more comfortable. We will be setting up adjacent to the dog park!

Our next Piano Diary performance is this coming Wednesday evening July 19 at 8pm. We are getting so excited and are truly so grateful to be working with such an excellent team of movers!

The folks at Quick & Careful Moving Co. Have been so reliable, punctual, attentive and dependable every single time we have worked with them. Without Quick & Careful, our precious piano “Fanny Mendelssohn” would not make it to the parks, and we wouldn’t have much to go on without that would we!!? So grateful to this moving team.
•
Please hire Quick & Careful for any moving job you have or in particular if you have a PIANO in need of moving!! They are absolute experts. Going into year three of this series (concert number 8!) we have tons of experience and trust built up with this team. They are the best!!

Thank you Quick & Careful for supporting us again in 2023. Looking forward to seeing the team again on Wed night this week!!
