MEET OUR PRODUCTION DESIGNER: Emma McVicar 🛋🎨🖌
Emma has had several works in multiple Art shows from 2015 to 2018 for Sir Fredrick Banting S.S., Western University, and Bealart in her hometown of London, Ont. While attending Bealart after highschool, she learned foundational skills in Painting, sculpture, printmaking, illustration, life drawing, and specialized in Ceramics for 2 years, as well as Textiles and Experimental Film & Animation.
She was co-Production Designer for her class’s Term 2 shoots at Vancouver Film School, and since then has had several roles within the Art Department, including Art Director for the short film Ghostin’, and Production Designer for the short films Derek’s Big Break, which wrapped filming in December of 2020, and One Too Many, which wrapped filming this past April.
Emma has had her hands in several parts of the Art Department, including graphic design, costumes, prop making & buying, set decorating, budgeting, research & concept creation. She is currently teaching herself Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as Procreate.
Limbo is Emma’s third project as Production Designer, and will also be in the same position for the upcoming short film Zombies Have Feelings Too. She hopes to work in Props & Graphic Design after school.
