Ne.Sans Opera and Dance invites the community to a free 4 day workshop led by Idan Cohen, Artistic Director of Ne.Sans Opera and Dance and company dancers.
Each workshop includes:
• 12:00–1:00 pm — Warm-up class led by Idan Cohen
• 1:00–3:00 pm — Partnering repertoire from Ne.Sans works, led by company dancers
• 3:00–4:00 pm — Creative tasks connected to Ne.Sans' upcoming BACH DANCES project, inspired by J. S. Bach’s Solo Cello Suites​

Salam-Shalom: Echoes of Home

This evening brings together sopranos Jaclyn Grossman and Miriam Khalil, pianist Gordon Gerrard (Artistic Director of City Opera Vancouver), and artistic support by Idan Cohen of Ne. Sans Opera & Dance. Through Arab and Jewish music, languages, and stories, the program offers a profound exploration of intertwined histories and shared experiences, weaving together tradition to create space for connection.

From the program's creators, Miriam Khalil and Jaclyn Grossman:
"Creating a concert that weaves together Arab and Jewish music, languages, and stories has been a profound source of strength and connection. Our histories, faiths, and struggles are deeply intertwined, and while each of us carries our own pain, we believe we are stronger when we come together in support of one another."

The diverse setlist offers a compelling journey through history and folklore, including works by Palestinian and Sri-Lankan American composer, Felix Jarrar, a haunting lullaby by Jewish composer, Ilse Weber, and part of Osvaldo Golijov's dynamic Ayre, exploring themes of exile and the search for belonging.
