📣 CALLING ALL YOUNG ARTISTS! The bi-annual Canadian Youth Visual Arts Contest, co-hosted by Academy of Modern Art and Youth Initiative Vancouver is back for its fourth iteration!

☄️This year, our theme is FUTURE, providing a canvas of infinite possibilities for your creativity. The future is vision, imagination and a mysterious world, and you can bring it to life with your art.

🎨CYVAC welcomes submissions from young artists worldwide aged 5-23. The last day for submissions is April 30th, 2025, so begin creating your vision of the future today!

🎉 The highly anticipated CYVAC is coming to a grand finale!

👏 Join us to appreciate the mesmerizing array of artworks as we gather on June 8th, 9th, and 10th.

🎨 This year, CYVAC’s PUBLIC auction of outstanding art pieces will be on June 9th from 8-9 PM at Lipont Place; mark your calendars for our charity art sale to support VGH+UBC Hospital Foundation!

👥 YIV’s executives will host multiple booths for the awards ceremony on June 10th, including Krispy Kreme sales and interactive activities with a gift card raffle. 🎟️

⭐️ These closing events are not just a celebration of art, but are also a culmination of collective passion, unique stories, and unwavering commitment of the artistic community.

👏 Welcoming competition jury Alessandra Torres onboard our CVYAC journey!

👩‍🏫 Alessandra Torres is the MICA International Admission Counselor and MICA sculpture faculty member. Torres's performances, installations, and photographs have been exhibited nationally and internationally. Her work is included in numerous private and public art collections including the Art In Embassies Program and The DC Art Bank. She has participated in such prestigious residencies as The Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture, and Vermont Studio Center. Alessandra received an MFA in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University.
