Filmed at the Gate to the Northwest Passage, where history, navigation, and landscape meet — Vanier park is the perfect place for a reflective walk by the sea or taking hold of of your emotional thresholds and transforming the feels into movement. Yiya believes art is our portal for healing. She wrote Red Eye Flight for those who have loved from afar, waited on a red-eye flight, lingered in longings for reunion, or stood at the edge of saying what matters most.

Some songs take years to arrive.
Red Eye Flight is one of them.
It lives somewhere between departure and arrival —
between who we were and who we’re becoming.
It’s out now.

I wrote Red Eye Flight somewhere between time zones —
between languages, memories, longings, between versions of myself that feel estranged, even dissociated from each other.

There’s a particular kind of loneliness in diaspora…
in this song journey, I explored deeper tones of midnight moodswings and lingering aches of tender longings.

We are all in some sense, stuck in the jet lag of identity, the quiet dissonance, the longing for a place that isn’t entirely on any map.

You feel me? Take a listen and if you wanna share your thoughts, I'd love to chat!

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16

New artwork for reflection

The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of the Cross and the Way of Sorrow traditionally detail fourteen different moments on the day Jesus died.

I have begun a visual prayer pilgrimage to pray for countries affected by the war, grow closer to Jesus as the world groans for peace and justice.

In every woman’s journey, there are moments where the road disappears entirely—where there is no trail, no map, and no guide but the resilient dun-dun of her own heartbeat.

This is where the Bushwhacker archetype rises.
She is not the polished hero. She is the woman with trembling hands and a steady will, cutting through emotional overgrowth, tangled shame, and inherited burdens. She's made friends with loneliness and silence. Nothing but her prayers, intuition and grit fuel her bumbling steps.

This archetype lives in every woman who’s ever had to forge her own way through trauma—not around it, not above it, but through it. Through systems that minimized her pain. Through families that asked her to be quiet and compliant. Through relationships that confused control with love.

I’m sharing this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc_r2BTvjY4 because it captures something that's on fire inside of me ,even as I am older now.

This is not just about surviving the hurricans of life.
It’s about reclaiming the compass of your own body, your own truth, your own God-given voice. It's for those who are bushwhacking side trails, figuring out their side hussle and trying to do mommy and business in tandem.

If this resonates, or you know someone who’s quietly bushwhacking their way through, please share this.
You never know who might finally feel seen.

🧡 With tenderness and fire,

,
