In 2012, we were fortunate to find ourselves the new stewards of a small farm with a studio and workshop as well as an outdoorsy-person's paradise of fields, creeks, cedar forest, marsh and hardwood forest. With ample space for vegetable gardens, walking trails, chickens, bees, and for woodworking, arts and crafts, we are - for the most part - livin' the dream. We both love making stuff, and are w

orking towards making our studio both an on-line and physical presence in our community so that we can share the stuff that we make as well as promote the work of other artists and artisans from our community.

This Sunday (August 9) is the final craft drop-in before we take our annual break.
We have one spot that has opened up for the wire-weave jewellery with Chiara Switzer (happening during the drop in time). Please message if interested.
As usual, you are also welcome to use the craft supplies available to create something of your own choosing, or bring something that you're working on.

This isn't really a Concession 6 Studio activity but our apple trees are heavy with apples and since we're likely to pull out our apple scratter and cider press, we thought we'd ask if anyone else wants to try their hand at making apple cider? Afternoon of Thursday August 6, afternoon of Friday August 7 or late afternoon/early evening of Sunday August 9.
We can teach you how to use it, but you'd have to pick your own apples and bring your own cheesecloth and your own jugs. Message me if interested. It's a fun activity.
We don't spray our apples and haven't even sprayed the trees with oil for a few years, so the apples are a bit scabby and small, but you're also welcome to pick for apple sauce if you have the patience to peel small apples.

Reminder, for those who signed up, that the herb wreath/decor make and take with "A Homesteading Kind of Life" is this Saturday at 10am. Looking forward to it! If it's cooler outside than inside, and not too windy or buggy, we may opt to work in the shade outdoors instead of in the barn, so please dress appropriately.

Excited to have A Homesteading Kind of Life at our studio on July 11 from 10 to noon to lead an herb make-and-take morning!
Work with fresh herbs to create a piece of home decor from which you can pinch a bit of whatever that day's recipe calls for!

Thanks to Carolynn of Beecraft Studio for the great soap-making workshop here at Concession 6 Studio. We look forward to trying the recipe on our own sometime soon! We did a simple soap with oatmeal, honey and olive oil. "Breakfast bars", Glenn calls them.

This Sunday May 31, the studio will be open for craft drop-in as usual, but there will be a workshop in the adjacent space at the same time - and given that the workshop is sold out, heads up that it might mean there's nobody else in the studio doing crafts. (Lisa is registered as a workshop participant as well!) Take your chances regarding companionship, or come the next Sunday instead!

Use our supplies ($2-5ish donation towards cost of replenishing supplies is appreciated but not required) or bring whatever you're working on.
