In January of 2020, we had the wonderfully talented Meaghan Smith join us for a workshop where our members helped to co-write a song about what Creative Voices was to us. Little did we know just how much we would be carrying each other just two months later when Covid hit and over the coming years. It wasn’t until the spring of 2022 when we could finally perform the piece for an audience.

To celebrate our 15th season, we invited our alumni to join us on stage to end our concert, singing in harmony, breathing together, and sharing music with one another singing “Carry Me.”

The song stands even more true today than I think it did when we first created it. Thank you to Meaghan for creating this meaningful and timeless song with us.

This amazing piece was arranged by Dr. Tracy Wong and though it was by far the piece that challenged us most as a group, it was the piece I think we all came away from beyond proud! This piece, Rasa Nusantara is a joyful medley of four Malaysian folk dances! Dr. Tracy Wong

This piece was easily a favourite of ours and the audience! With Aiden on drums, it was hard not to dance along!

We are so excited to have the talented joining us for our concert on May 9th!

Clare hails from right here in Nova Scotia but currently resides in Montreal. Her smooth and unique alto voice, her story-telling lyrics, and the beautiful harmonies she has arranged for Creative Voices to sing along side her will be an easy highlight of the entire concert. Clare is an East Coast Music Award Nominee for Breakthrough Artist of the Year 2025 and we are certain that will not be her final nomination.

Having Clare work with us on these pieces was such an honour. Her ability to paint a picture through music and portray feelings and emotions through harmonies and lyrics is remarkable. We could not be looking forward to sharing the stage with her on the weekend more than we already are!
