A modern indie folk trio from Newfoundland, The Once have collected a trio of Canadian Folk Music Awards, numerous ECMA awards, and was named Artist of the Year by the Newfoundland & Labrador Arts Council. They have earned not one, but two JUNO nominations for Roots Album of the Year and continue to take their music around the world. With the release of 2024’s Out Here, The Once have delivered a thoughtful and playful assembly of songs mingling their musical roots from Newfoundland along with folk, bluegrass, country, Americana, and modern indie rock. Members Geraldine Hollett, Andrew Dale, and Phil Churchill have created a sound representative of their home province of Newfoundland while pushing the boundaries on the great Canadian songbook with their soothing vocal harmony and acoustically rich core.

Huge shoutout and an even bigger THANK YOU to the amazing singers of Resonance! 🎶❤️

These incredibly talented youth just raised over $1,000 for the Marigold Cultural Centre. What makes this even more special is that the choir members themselves get to choose exactly where the funds from their concerts go, and we are so incredibly grateful they chose to support our local arts community.

Thank you to everyone at Resonance for sharing your voices and your generosity to help keep the arts thriving here in Truro. You guys rock! 🌟👏

The acclaimed quartet came together in late 2022 and quickly took Ontario by storm — selling out dates on their very first "Spirit of the Season" holiday tour. Since then, they've showcased at major music industry events across Canada, the US and UK, have whirlwind 2026 & 2027 tours on the books, won the 2025 Canadian Folk Music Award ('New Artist of the Year') for their debut CD, launched a Holiday EP, and have a sophomore CD on the way… not bad for a band just a few years in!

United in their passion for triumphant tunes, soaring vocals and poignant storytelling, Maggie's Wake embraces their wide ranging influences and have built an exciting, new sound. The band features award-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tara Dunphy and award-winning violinist/fiddler/songwriter, Lindsay Schindler, backed by powerhouses Andrew Kosty on bass and Kenneth Palmer on guitar.

Their work is 100% original, penned by Tara and Lindsay, and their first single, Bridget O’Brien, won the NERFA Songwriting Award.

After their NERFA showcase, they were told that if Maggie’s Wake was a soup, it would be a hearty bowl of everyone’s favourite folk styles finished with a dash of Loretta Lynn and a pinch of Nick Lowe. Doesn’t that sound delicious?!

Dale Watson, the Texas h***y tonk legend, says "You can't grow if you rip your roots out of the ground" and Maggie's Wake have taken that to heart. They are honouring tradition while forging their own path in roots music.

Tennyson King 百城 is an award-winning, nomadic folk musician from Hong Kong and Canada, known for his charismatic stage presence and boundary-pushing sound. Blending Western indie-folk with traditional Chinese influences, his music bridges cultures with warmth and originality.

Performing songs in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, Tennyson pairs kick drum, zhongruan, and electric and acoustic guitar to create an immersive live experience. His shows are filled with positivity, interactive moments, and playful stories from life on the road. The result is a restorative, uplifting sound—folk-rock rooted in earthiness, touched by pop sensibility, and finished with subtle psychedelic ear candy that gets audiences on their feet.

In 2025, Tennyson King hit the road, bringing his music across Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Taiwan, with a career-defining performance at Glastonbury Festival. He toured alongside Aysanabee and Lindi Ortega, and earned a nomination for Performing Artist of the Year at the Ontario Folk Music Awards.

Tennyson King’s music feels like a warm hug for the soul. With smooth vocals, rhythmic guitar, and the steady heartbeat of his kick drum, he weaves together his Chinese and Canadian roots to create an intimate, grounded live experience that resonates long after the last note fades.

✨ NEW SHOW ON SALE ✨

Ooh love...Ria Mae is returning to the Marigold this November! And this time, she is bringing the full band experience to Truro. Get your tickets while you still can, they will NOT last long!

Event: Ria Mae
Date: Friday, November 6th @ 7:30 PM
Tickets: $55 https://tproatlantic.ticketpro.ca/en/pages/1694091706?aff=mcc or (902) 897-4004

Ria Mae is a platinum-selling pop artist and songwriter from Halifax, Nova Scotia, known for crafting songs that feel as intimate as they are undeniable. With a signature blend of confessional lyricism and instinctive, hook-driven songwriting, her music captures the quiet, complicated emotions people don’t always know how to say out loud - and turns them into something immediate, repeatable, and lasting.

Her platinum-certified singles “Bend,” “Ooh Love,” and breakout hit “Clothes Off” (Top 5 in Canada, #1 on CBC Radio 2) reflect a catalogue rooted in emotional clarity and melodic precision, driving over 90 million global streams. A three-time JUNO nominee and recipient of a SOCAN #1 Award, SOCAN Songwriter of the Year (NSMAs), and multiple ECMA nominations, her music has also been featured in The L Word, CBC’s Olympic coverage, and Hello Goodbye.

Her 2025 sophomore album Two marks a more grounded, present-tense evolution - a record that leans into the reality of going through something, rather than neatly moving past it. The songs carry that same duality she’s known for: restrained, intimate moments that give way to undeniable, full-bodied hooks. She brought that dynamic to the stage with her full-band Tour Two, a set that builds, releases, and pulls audiences through emotional highs and lows in a way that keeps them fully locked in.
