We have a roster of fantastic vendors lined up for our June 27 Spring Forest Market in Lunenburg.
Today we are featuring printmaker and pyrographer, Donna Viglicucci .art and interdisciplinary artist Sampson Vassallo
A snippet from Donna's Bio -
I am a self-taught printmaker and pyrographer who now calls Nova Scotia home.
The complexity and unpredictability of Lino reduction printing particularly fascinates me. Working with bold colour palettes as well as more subtle and detailed compositions, I create original limited-edition prints.
Pyrography, the art of writing with fire offers a different yet equally captivating creative experience.
Using heat, I burn my designs onto live-edge wood and heavyweight paper, exploring the natural character of each surface. Inspired heavily by nature and wildlife, my work continually challenges me to discover new possibilities and perspectives through both traditional and contemporary approaches.

And some words from Sampson -
Sampson Vassallo is a Nova Scotian interdisciplinary artist and settler of Maltese, French, Polish and Scottish Ancestry. In his practice, art is play; processual and peculiar. Sampson is in elaborate conversations with materials-for-the-making, getting drawn in by the ways they may shift or twist a vision from his mind.
Sampson works as a freelance artist and co-operates Twisted Tuckamore Arts and Land-Based Education. Through his work as an educator, handyperson, and artist, Sampson is guided by laughter, care, and vocational ancestors.
