Before you adhere anything to your card front, take a quick photo of your layout with your phone.

Why? 📸

Sometimes a photo makes it easier to spot things you might miss in person—an element that’s slightly crooked, an embellishment that feels out of place, or a sentiment that could be moved for better balance.

It’s a simple trick that can take your card design from good to great before the glue comes out!

Today’s creation! ✨

I was inspired by a card I spotted on Pinterest and decided to put my own spin on it.

To create the background, I used a retired die to create a stencil and blended ink through it to make the star shape. Then I stamped over the star with a retired stamp set. After masking the stamped image, I added the gold embossed star for a little extra shine and dimension.

I love finding new ways to use products that have been sitting in my craft room for years. Sometimes retired supplies become new favorites all over again!
