Celebrate the beauty of nature in a truly beautiful and meaningful way on Saturday November 7th from 11 AM – 4 PM at the picturesque Nuevo Malacatos Farm in Brighton.
Join mixed media artist Brandy Ringelmann for a creative experience exploring the ancient art of encaustic collage using pressed flowers, layered papers, and molten beeswax. Pack a lunch and refreshments, there will be time to refuel and take breaks.
Encaustic is one of the oldest known painting techniques, dating back to the ancient Greeks, created by combining melted beeswax with tree resin to produce a luminous, richly layered surface. Kids/Teens After School Art Classes in September with mixed media artist Brandy Ringelmann

Children will explore a variety of mediums, techniques, and creative approaches, building a strong foundation for understanding art and developing a lifelong love of creating.

Ages 6–14. Limited spaces of only 6 children per session. This means smaller class sizes and quality instruction.

Classes are thoughtfully divided into three groups (ages 6–9, 10–14 and advanced teen) to ensure an age-appropriate and supportive experience.

For our Young Artists Studio (ages 6–9), a place where imagination takes the lead. Through playful exploration and hands-on creativity, children are introduced to a variety of art materials and techniques while developing fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and creative confidence "celebrating the process of making". They learn to appreciate all art produced, and understand art is subjective, because every artist sees the world in their own special way.

For ages 10–14, students begin refining techniques, developing patience, and learning to trust the creative process—supporting them as they grow into their own artistic style and voice.

For the advanced teen studio, students continue to explore more complex mediums and are given more freedom and independence to express themselves. They are given opportunities to contribute to the content and curriculum as well as shape their own creative journey - while receiving individualized instruction, mentorship and guidance to develop their artistic voice and technical skills.

Spots are limited to keep classes personal and engaging. Reach out to reserve your child’s place. My home is located in Trenton, not far from the original These 4 Walls Gallery space. Please do not register via Eventbrite but instead call/text to 613-242-5165 to reserve spots.

Join us for a fun afternoon learning art journaling with layers in paint, Posca, pen and metal leaf, perfect for mindfulness and resetting.

AVOID EVENTBRITE FEES BY BOOKING DIRECTLY TEXT/CALL 613-242-5165.

Join mixed media artist Brandy Ringelmann for a mindful and restorative afternoon of creativity at Nuevo Malacatos Farm on Sunday, September 13 from 1–4 pm.

This beginner-friendly Mindfulness Art Journaling class is designed to help you slow down, reset, and reconnect through creativity—perfectly aligned with the farm’s focus on Sunday rest, health, and wellness. Together, we couldn’t imagine a more meaningful collaboration.

Brandy will gently guide you through the process of building a layered art journal page—starting with expressive painted backgrounds, adding depth and interest with additional layers, and finishing with details like marker, pen, and touches of metallic foil. This is a space to journal for fun, for rest, and for mindfulness—without pressure or expectation.

Your finished piece can remain a personal reflection within your journal or easily be removed and framed to share with the world—completely up to you.

This class is ideal for anyone looking to explore creativity in a relaxed, low-pressure way, without feeling overwhelmed by materials, outcomes, or cost.

Participants are asked to bring a Dylusions Creative Journal of their choice (available on Amazon). A small selection of journals will be available for purchase onsite if needed. Brandy recommends a portrait layout for those who may wish to frame or gift their work afterward, though any size is welcome.

Come as you are, and leave feeling grounded, inspired, and creatively refreshed.

If you love mindful art journaling, be sure to sign up for our monthly Art Journaling Club beginning Wednesday September 16th.

Art & Acres 2026 Update

With a heavy heart, we’ve made the decision to **cancel Art & Acres Festival 2026**.

While we had hoped to bring the festival back this year, vendor applications have been lower than needed to create the vibrant, diverse market and experience that Art & Acres is known for. We recognize that moving the festival to an earlier date this year has played a role in lower-than-desired vendor participation.

Rather than move forward with a smaller version of the festival, we feel it’s better to pause, regroup, and come back **bigger and better in October 2027**.

We’re incredibly grateful to the vendors, artists, makers, farmers, sponsors, volunteers, visitors, and supporters who have helped make Art & Acres so special. ❤️

This isn’t goodbye—it’s simply **“see you in October 2027.”** 🌿🎨

Thank you for understanding and for continuing to support local art, agriculture, makers, and community.

**Art & Acres will return. And we can’t wait to make the 2027 edition one to remember.** 🌻
