Everyone has a story, and we want to hear yours!
Trail & District Arts Council presents "On the Record Storytelling" where we invite you to share or listen to real stories at the inaugural event in Rossland at the Alpine Grind on Sunday, October 25 from 7-9 pm.
The event calls for storytellers to tell their true spooky stories - whatever that means to you! This is your chance to tell your best dinner party story or try out new, but true, work to a (somewhat) captive audience.
If you want to tell your story, please email [email protected] to share a one sentence pitch by October 14. Or just show up on the night, sign up, line up and tell us your story if there’s space.
The Guidelines for Storytellers
- Each storyteller has 5 to 10 minutes maximum to perform. WARNING: These stories are timed.
- Stories need to be true as experienced by you or be passed down from family.
- Stories must be related to the theme.
- No reading, so practice makes perfect to get across the humour and emotion of the tale.
- One prop allowed but no tech, including no mic!
- Please note, it’s a great idea to practice out loud to a friend or family member once or twice and set a timer.
- This is an all-ages show so your subject matter should be sensitive to an age diverse audience.
Your MC will be cheering you on and getting the lasso out to clear you off the stage if you go over time!!!
