We are a non-profit gallery offering diverse exhibitions and programming. Our gallery offers excellent facilities including an exhibition space, meeting and programming area, and fully equipped pottery and lapidary studios. Our mandate is to support and present the work of emerging and established Kootenay Artists and to provide training opportunities at all levels.

We’re excited to showcase our last pop up exhibition in our own space right here in the VISAC. Lizanne Adam (lizanneadam) is a ceramic artist from Quebec whose practice centres on atmospheric firing.

This project is sponsored by Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance, with support from the West Kootenay Regional Arts Council and the Columbia Basin Trust . Thank you for making this possible. This exhibition is up until June 10th.

We’re so excited to share our Summer Kids Art and Pottery Camps for 2026 ☀️🎨

These camps are all about creativity, exploration, and hands on making in a fun, supportive studio environment.

Pottery Camps (Ages 9–12)
$275 per camp
July 13 to 16
July 27 to 30
Spend the week working with clay while creating both functional and sculptural pieces. Kids will learn handbuilding techniques and bring their ideas to life in clay.

Art Camps (Ages 6–10)
$250 per camp

🐙 Deep Sea Creatures Studio
July 6 to 9
Dive into an underwater world where kids will design and build their own imaginative sea creatures using recycled materials and paper mâché. From jellyfish to totally made-up ocean beings, this camp is all about creativity, texture, and getting a little messy while making something magical.

🧸 Snuggle Squad Studio
July 20 to 23
In this cozy, creative camp, kids will design and create their own stuffed animal from start to finish. They’ll learn beginner sewing techniques and explore felting to add personality and details, leaving with a one-of-a-kind plush friend they made themselves.

Spots are limited and these camps fill quickly.

Our Introduction to Clay Techniques with Sarah Zanussi is the perfect place to start if you’re new to pottery or looking to build on your skills. Over six Monday evenings, you’ll explore both wheel throwing and hand building techniques including pinching, coiling, and slab construction. You’ll also learn essential studio skills like wedging, centering, pulling, trimming, and glazing giving you a strong foundation for future ceramic projects.

Mondays, May 4 – June 15 (no class May 18)
6:00 – 8:30 PM
$270 members | $300 non-members
$20 clay fee (paid first day)
