Another great day painting at the Toronto Botanical Gardens. This was the August "Paint Out," part of the Essence of the Gardens exhibition. There were lots of artists in attendance and luckily the rain held off. I decided to paint this cute little sunflower. It will be on display at our show at the gardens, October 3-17. Hope to see you there! Open daily 10:30am-4:30pm.

I dropped off some littles today at Arts on Queen Gallery, at 2198 Queen Street East. They are 8x8 inches and done in acrylic. Get 'em while they're hot.

Decided to repaint this piece into a vertical composition as I wasn't quite happy with how the first one came out. It's been a hot week but I think it was worth the effort. Don't you? The horizontal can be seen in my last video.

I’m so thrilled to have been awarded the East York Foundation’s Michael Prue Award of Excellence for “Destinations” at our show at the Papermill Gallery, Todmorden Mills, this weekend.

So grateful to the judge, Martha Johnson!

"The valley setting inspires! Glorious skill, luscious undercolour adding to the depth of field. Appreciating the call to the natural world and our precious environment. Intriguing composition, so well resolved. A complete pleasure. Congrats."

Really excited to be participating in The Don Valley Art Club’s Spring Art Show. Todmorden is such a lovely place to stroll around with all of the old historic buildings. We will be doing live plein air demonstrations on Sundays in May. Come check it out. Show reception is May 9, 7-9pm.
