Manifestation | Yaqein | Confessions of a Fibre Artist

The first of Muharram marks the beginning of “Ayaam e Aza, Days of Mourning”. My faith is my biggest gift from my Creator and on first Muharam 2017, I had my ultimate test of faith- We are told that time heals, and Alhumdulillah today 2017 is a just another chapter of my life.

All my life, I’ve understood Allah mian through stories of Karbala that have been a source of profound historical and spiritual reality. The message of Karbala has served as a lens for me to understand Allah’s divine plans, specifically the ultimate clash between truth (Haq) and falsehood (Batil), the necessity of sacrifice to preserve moral integrity, and the concept of absolute submission to the Divine Almighty. I’m grateful to my parents for planting and harvesting the love of Ahlebayt in me.

What am I trying to convey here? Our lives are a product of our beliefs. Nothing is impossible until you believe it’s done- Submission to Divine timing is the Yaqein that will manifest all your dreams into a reality. I prayed that my heart doesn’t hurt due to my personal life chapter from Muharam 2017. The journey was turbulent but today I know my dua has been beautifully granted.
And what favours of your Lord will you deny?

Keep watching as this print unfolds.
Love,
Amna Nawab

Anaar | Pomegranate | 4 of 4 | one of a kind dupatta

My best downtime is peeling a pomegranate. It fills my heart with abundance and immense gratitude because I’ve always been told that “Anaar” is a fruit of paradise. Growing up, I’ve been told by my elders that every Pomegranate has a seed from heaven in it. Hence it was my mission in life to pick and eat every seed of my anaar. I also feel that it gives me a way to work with my fingers- it boosts your mind body coordination because one has to use the right pressure to not puncture the succulent seeds as my fingertips dig into the crevices of the pomegranate skin to pick all seeds without damaging them.

During a workshop a few weeks ago, I was pleased to hear similar stories about the Anaar from the attendees and the joy these stories brought to our hearts is unexplainable. The Quran honors the pomegranate as a symbol of the beauty and abundance of paradise, mentioning it in Chapter 55 (Surah Ar-Rahman) as a gift of divine creation. the anaar represents divine unity (the Oneness of creation). Each individual seed tells a unique story, yet they are all bound together as one. The pomegranate is widely celebrated as a “fruit of heaven” across several major religions and mythologies. It is explicitly described as growing in the gardens of paradise in the Quran, celebrated as one of the seven blessed fruits of the Torah, and holds sacred status in ancient Persian and Zoroastrian traditions.

This dupatta is the pomegranate of my collection. I’m truly blessed to recognize how Allah has blessed us all with a beautiful gift. May we all find our gifts and celebrate them.

I urge you all to treat yourself to a juicy anaar today. But peel/seed it yourself and don’t share. Sometimes it’s best to help yourself before you help others. I’ll post this and get myself an Anaar crate from Costco today 🤪.
And what favours of your Lord will you deny?

Creativity is a language | Confessions of a Fibre Artist
The biggest challenge is to convince yourself that creativity is a language. Your hands are the biggest tool that generate a medicine, that is specific for you. The world around you will think you are mad but your healing through creating, cannot be measured or explained. It reaches places therapy cannot touch. What you do is not optional, it is essential to bring yourself the peace money cannot buy.

The outcome doesn’t need to be big or small. Neither does it have to be beautiful or perfect. The only thing that matters is to just “start”.

Don’t think too much and start - it’s the best thing you can do for yourself.

Can’t wait to start sharing this one.
Love,
Amna Nawab

الماس | Almaas | 3 of 4 OOAK dupatta | Diamond

They say coal becomes diamond under pressure. Pressure made me embroider like I never had before. Many would mock my choice of work! “How can one make a living with embroidery?” I didn’t know how I’d survive, but I knew I wasn’t going to give up on what made me happy - just because it wasn’t a main stream career choice. I have a long long way to go, but I’m happy and most grateful that I’m self made. They can sn**ch away everything from you but they can’t take your skill away.

Give yourself the freedom to do what you like. Learn the skill and see how you can take it towards an end product. We can sell only when we believe in our product. One can make the best product, only when we master the skill!

For my love of the colour Purple-
The biggest act of kindness is finding peace within yourself. Carrying hate, grudges or holding onto painful memories only harms the carrier and no one else. Unfortunately we are all toxic is some way and that makes us human. The first step is to let go of all the unintended negativity that finds a way to stay hidden inside us. How can that be achieved?

The only way I understood was shifting my focus to the unaccounted blessings the Creator bestowed upon us. It takes a breakdown to make a breakthrough. And it’s all in that one moment! To heal the world, we must allow ourselves to heal. Let us make ourselves a priority before our time is up. It was a delight to see blessings through colour in nature. The senses truly bring magic in our lives. Let’s sit back and enjoy some Jambolan fruit.
Thank you God for our 5 senses. May we find ways to appreciate your vastness in blessing.
