A special thank you to TD for supporting B Seen. 💚
B Seen is made possible with support from TD, through the TD Ready Commitment.

With their support, BCurrent is creating space for Black multidisciplinary artists in the GTA to experiment across disciplines, develop new work, and access the time, mentorship, and resources needed to bring those ideas to life.

Applications for B Seen are now open through October 4, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET.

A new identity was only the beginning.
Earlier this year, we introduced a renewed BCurrent — one built around a bigger vision for Black artists, stories, experimentation, and possibility. 💜

Tomorrow, one part of that vision opens its doors: B Seen 🚀
A new artist development program for Black multidisciplinary artists in the GTA.

No finished project proposal required.
Come with your practice, your experience, and the disciplines you want to bring into conversation.

Applications open August 25. 👀

Stay current. ⚡️

What happens when an artist doesn’t have to stay in one box? 🚀

A storyteller meets movement.
Words meet sound.
Performance meets image.
One practice collides with another — and something new becomes possible.

BCurrent has always believed in developing artists, ideas, and collaborations that don’t fit neatly inside one form.

B Seen takes that belief further.
A new artist development opportunity for Black multidisciplinary artists in the GTA is almost here. ⚡

Applications open Tuesday, August 25.

What disciplines would you bring together? Leave your hot take below. ⬇

Before B Seen is an opportunity, it starts with a belief. 💜
That Black art can be magical. Joyful. Experimental. Unexpected.
That artists should have room to stretch across disciplines, take creative risks, and make work that expands what Blackness can look, sound, and feel like.

That belief has always been part of BCurrent.

And on Monday, we’re opening another way to put it into practice.
B Seen applications open August 25. 👀

Black Art. Bold Possibilities. ⚡

💜⚡ The Ontario Trillium Foundation () has powered a transformative journey for BCurrent: in 2024 we were awarded a $79,200 Resilient Communities Fund Grant to develop organizational capacity and long-term stability over 18 months. This support fueled essential capacity-building that strengthened our team, expanded our artistic vision, and inspired bold new ways to uplift Black communities in Ontario.
