Please join us Thursday October 1, from 6-8PM for the opening of “Bury the Lead”, an solo exhibition by Matt Schust.

In her text for the exhibition, Ananda Pellerin writes
“Schust’s nature vistas and cosmopolitan scenes, wide shots and close-ups create and obscure meaning at once, connecting with viewers not through fact, but through emotional register. “My subject matter is not necessarily related by time, subject, or experience, and my intention is to build a wordless narrative,” the artist says. “A hum that can be felt through all my work – something you can feel, if not directly name…”

Uniting the works in “Material Imaginations” is their engagement with the ephemeral–their attempt to render permanent that which is fundamentally transient. Water - fluid, mutable, and perpetually in motion, resists containment. The works in “Material Imaginations” grapple with this contradiction–capturing fleeting, elusive, moments and suspending them in time, negotiating the tension between movement and stillness, permanence and dissolution.

Material Imaginations continues at the gallery.

Viktor Fordell’s practice spans photography, collage, sculpture, and found objects, often focusing on the overlooked poetics of urban space. For the works within his Material Imaginations, he turns his attention to the minutia within the city – capturing a series of water droplets in the moments right before they break. Set against obscured backgrounds of diffused light, each droplet contains a world nested within – brimming with potential but forever suspended in a perpetual state of becoming.

Congratulations to Kareem-Anthony Ferreira on the unveiling of a major public artwork commissioned as part of the new Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Legacy Court at the TD Coliseum in Hamilton ON.

Earlier this year, Gilgeous-Alexander joined TD Coliseum as an investor. Kareem–Anthony Ferreira was selected to create a new permanent installation for the Ares Atrium – the entrance hall to the new court, named after SGA’s son. Drawing on themes of identity, memory, and belonging, the work expands on Ferreira’s existing practice while celebrating SGA’s contributions to the city both on and off the court.

Drawing inspiration from Gaston Bachelard’s 1942 text L’eau et les rêves (Water and Dreams), the exhibition brings together a selection of works that use water as a point of departure to explore themes of memory, temporality, and transformation.

This is your last week to view Maria Trabulo’s work as part of The Coimbra Biennial of Contemporary Art. Curated by Hans Ibelings and John Zeppetelli, the exhibition brings together over 60 international artists, architects, and filmmakers. Titled “To hold, to give, to receive,” the exhibition closes Sunday, July 5, 2026.
