NOW PLAYING THROUGH SUNDAY ONLY!
Get down to the Alumnae Theatre for a trip “Into the Woods”!

The beloved classic by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine has captivated audiences for generations, and now, Toronto’s young performers will have the opportunity to bring these iconic roles to life. All your favourite fairy tale characters—Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack (of beanstalk fame), Rapunzel, and more—are here, their stories woven together to create a rich, thought-provoking, and entertaining musical experience.

Into the Woods explores what happens after “happily ever after,” the unforeseen consequences of getting what you wish for, and the deeper truth that every action carries weight. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish for a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife discover they are cursed by a Witch, they set out on a quest to break the spell. Though everyone’s wishes are eventually granted, the repercussions of their choices return to haunt them—with unexpected and devastating consequences.

Yesterday we spent World Theatre Day in the best way we know how — at rehearsal! 🎭✨

We are deep in the thick of Into the Woods, and every run-through brings a little more magic (and a few more surprises 👀). From tangled stories to unforgettable characters, this show is keeping us on our toes in the best way.

We can’t wait to bring this journey to life on stage for all of you. Stay tuned… it’s going to be something special 🌲💫

While we are in the thick of rehearsals of INTO THE WOODS, with this week being March Break, we’ve taken a pause to start looking towards the future and what 2026/2027 might hold.

While we aren’t ready to reveal our plans quite yet, we can promise that…

In Fall 2026, in the midst of unimaginable events, a remarkable and uplifting true story will fill our stage with kindness, humour, open hearts, and open doors.

And in winter 2027, we will feel a deep chill of winter, with a story of love, magic, and a journey that proves true love can thaw even the coldest heart.
