Tenors & Basses — Your Voice Belongs With Us!

The Etobicoke Centennial Choir (ECC) is looking for tenor and bass singers to join us for our 60th Anniversary Season!

Become part of a vibrant musical community that will continue singing together for years to come.

Under the direction of Henry Renglich, ECC offers singers the opportunity to:

• Sing exceptional repertoire—from classical masterworks to contemporary choral music and works from around the world
• Develop your vocal skills with professional musical leadership and experienced section leads
• Enjoy the camaraderie of a welcoming, accomplished choir and discover why singing together is so rewarding
• Perform three concerts each season

Rehearsals
• Tuesdays, 7:30–9:45 p.m.
• Humber Valley United Church
• The 2026-2027 season runs from September 15, 2026 through to June 6, 2027.

Whether you’re an experienced chorister or returning to singing, we’d love to hear from you!

The ability to read music is required to meet the demands of our rehearsal schedule and repertoire. Previous choral experience is recommended but not essential.

The Etobicoke Centennial Choir (ECC) is seeking a Bass Section Lead to join our artistic team. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated community of experienced singers during ECC’s milestone 60th Anniversary Season and beyond.

Etobicoke Centennial Choir is an auditioned 60-voice SATB semi-professional choir under the direction of Artistic Director Henry Renglich.

The Bass Section Lead will:
• Demonstrate excellent sight-reading skills and significant choral experience.
• Attend all scheduled rehearsals.
• Participate in all all Saturday and/or Sunday concerts, as well as Friday evening dress rehearsals preceding each performance.
• Provide musical and vocal leadership during rehearsals and concerts, including leading choir warm-ups and supporting bass section members in learning their music.
• Perform solo and/or small ensemble repertoire as opportunities arise.

One of the highlights of our week was meeting award-winning composer Sherry Blevins, who joined our rehearsal from North Carolina to share the story behind When I Become an Old Woman—one of the many works you'll hear at World Beloved: Celebrating Women Composers—and to offer performance insights directly to our singers.

It's not every day that a choir gets to learn directly from the composer before performing their music! ❤️

From moving contemporary works to moments of humour and joy, tomorrow's program offers something for everyone.

Join us as we celebrate the creativity, passion, and artistry of women composers through an unforgettable evening of choral music.
