A new season begins at MOCA this weekend ✨

Join us Saturday, October 3 for our Fall Season Preview and be among the first to experience “Bones” by Bharti Kher, “Ombligo” by Delcy Morelos, and Beverly Glenn-Copeland’s sound installation “Light of the Heavens.”

Then on Sunday, before the museum opens to the public, hear directly from the artists as Kher and Morelos each lead a tour of their exhibitions.

A few tickets are still available for the season preview and artist tours, but space is limited.

It’s corn! 🌽

For Delcy Morelos’s upcoming exhibition “Ombligo,” we partnered with Crooked Farmz, a Toronto-based microfarm at Downsview Park, to grow more than 1,000 stalks of corn for her newly commissioned installation.

Led by Sean Smith, Crooked Farmz is rooted in a commitment to soil health, urban agriculture, and our connection to the land. Sean’s practice centres on composting, microbial life, and sustainable food systems. Together with Ratcliff Farms, he planted, nurtured, harvested, and dried the corn, whose roots are now part of Morelos’s monumental installation.

The local collaboration reflects Morelos’s ongoing exploration of our relationship with the earth.

MOCA's South Stairwell Sound Series returns with a new work by music legend Beverly Glenn-Copeland.

Titled "Light of the Heavens," the piece is a recently recovered song from Glenn-Copeland's archives, something he calls “a gift from my past.” Created in the mid eighties, the song echoes a quieter chapter of his life on the Canadian Shield. It's shimmering, weightless, and carried by his tender voice, as he sings “by the guiding stars, the cosmic veil, we are ever coming home to the light of the heavens.”

A visionary composer, trans elder, and classically trained musician, his five-decade career continually evolves, spanning folk, electronic, and spiritual music. This project comes just ahead of the reissue of his landmark1986 album “Keyboard Fantasies,” which celebrates its 40th anniversary this fall.

MOCA's Fall 2026 season opens in less than ONE MONTH!

✨ Join exhibiting artists Bharti Kher and Delcy Morelos on Sunday, October 4, for exclusive artist-led tours of their exhibitions. In conversation with MOCA's Artistic Director, Rui Mateus Amaral, you’ll hear directly from the artists about their processes, cultural reference points, and the ideas and material decisions that shaped their exhibitions.
