You read that right: after seven years of running hersarong.com as my side hustle and primary creative outlet, I’m shutting it down in one week.
The website and online store will no longer be available after Nov 2. Why? Three reasons:
1. I currently have two under two who are taking up my time in the most fulfilling way. And shortly before I had my first child…
2. …I had hit a wall in terms of how I wanted hersarong to evolve. If you look at my last few reels and posts, you might see how work had stagnated. And just before my second child was born…
3. …my husband and I started .ca, which combines both of our passions for Islamic architecture and design.
With two little ones and a business to run, it’s impossible for me to also keep hersarong.com going sustainably. But here’s the good news (maybe?):
This Instagram account will still be here. I’m still incredibly obsessed with batik sarongs, line art and recycled cardboard, so I will endeavour to keep creating and sharing my work here when possible. I love the community that has come to patronize this account and I deeply appreciate the support it gave me.
Thank you to everyone who’s been shopping at hersarong.com ❤️
