will tell a true story from his life for the cast to use as a springboard to their improvised scenes. The show then goes back and forth between monologues and improv.

**Please note these shows are not the Talk Show format that most of you know us for. Instead, this is our original monologist & improv format as explained above. For fans of the Talk Show, we are presently booked to perform it at a charity show sometime in March, and you will be updated once that show is booked and tickets are available.

Object Work and the “Where” Workshop

All improv players are taught the importance of establishing who, what, where and the importance of doing object work. Yet, most scenes lack the where and most players drop object work a soon as they can.
In this workshop we’ll work on how to simplify your object work so that you can maintain it throughout your scenes and work on a fun exercise taught to David by Academy Award winning actor and SC alumni, Alan Arkin, on the importance of establishing the basics (who, what and where) at the top of your scene.

The Lost Art of Playing an Object & Background Work

Have you ever played a tree, someone’s hat or a cat’s tail? If the answer is no, then why not? That’s because the fantastic art of playing an object has faded from people’s game.
In this workshop we’ll work on techniques to help people play both inanimate and animate objects, from clocks to birds to portraits on the wall to trees, etc. The only limit is your imagination.
Do these objects talk? It depends on the scene and we’ll learn how to judge if an object should talk or not.
We’ll also work on entering a scene as either someone/thing in the background and entering the scene as an additional character to help heighten the scene and keep it moving forward.

Ever thought of dipping your toe into the fun world of improvised comedy but didn’t want to shlep downtown?

If so, then this class is for you! We’re offering a beginner’s course in the foundations of improvised comedy, taught by Second City alumnus, David Shore.

This is an eight-week course focusing on classic improv games along with some scene work. Students will learn all the basics of improv, including, “yes, and”; who, what & where; listening; status; being in the moment; entering and exiting; and object work.

Improv classes can help improve your public speaking, ability to think outside the box and listening skills.

No prerequisite.
