WOW! How did 2 weeks fly by already?!
On May 30th we celebrated the 3rd year of a festival I founded and direct - Our Music Festival TO . A festival that spotlights the incredible women and gender-diverse musical voices this country has to offer. The brave powerhouses that don’t always get the stages and spaces they deserve!
It has been a labour of love since its inception and so much hard work that is completely volunteer-based. Sometimes the discouragement of why more of you are not lining up to pack the houses on these days and evenings that are full of such breathtaking talent and power and community gets me so down that I contemplate giving up….but I don’t. Because of nights and days like we had on May 30th.
I was brought to tears, I was fired up, I was inspired …to write, to scream, to fall in love, to change the world. It was one of our coolest crowds yet and there was a magic at both the Afternoon Song Circle and the evening show that made the entire year of hard work, stress, and worry worth it. The artists were off-the-charts!
Thanks to all my friends, sponsors, and collaborators for coming onboard this year to help me make it happen. I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you to my beautiful board of directors . I love you all. Thank you to our volunteers. You all rock so hard.
