An Act Of Solidarity
Wednesday, January 10th 6:30-7:30pm
Entrance of Soulpepper Theatre
50 Tankhouse Lane - Distillery District
As many of you now know, four brave, fearless Canadian actors have come forward with painful stories of s*xual harassment.
Members of the Canadian theatre community from all departments and patrons of Soulpepper have expressed that they are at a loss of how to support Patricia Fagan, Kristin Booth, Diana Bentley and Hannah Miller for their harrowing bravery.
In an act of solidarity members of the theatre community and patrons are invited to gather peacefully outside the doors of Soulpepper on Wednesday, January 10th at 6:30pm. The event will end at 7:30pm.
This is meant to be a silent, peaceful act of support. Signs that read or are welcome. We want to make sure we honour our colleagues with the deepest respect and ensure we do it with dignity.
It will surely be a very hard road for Ms. Fagan, Ms. Booth, Ms. Bentley and Ms.Miller in the coming weeks and months as they fight to make their voices heard.
While the house will be dark on Wednesday evening at Soulpepper since the performance of Amadeus has been cancelled, we can collectively stand together to demonstrate that light will surround our colleagues.
Press will likely be at the event. If anyone is asked to speak to the media we are hopeful that any comments given be focused on supporting our colleagues. This is an evening to acknowledge their bravery and demonstrate our show of support for their voices.
Please invite fellow theatre colleagues and patrons. Feel free to copy and paste this notice or forward it to your own subscriber lists.
In Solidarity,
Kat Lanteigne

Some months ago, I saw a play that will remain nameless. It dealt with profound, emotional subject matter – s*xual slavery during wartime. It was intense and graphic and disturbing. The writing was uneven, flowery and artificial in some parts and exposition-heavy in others. The directorial t
