An impromptu tribute to the late, great Dolly Parton at our Friday concert. 🕊️ What a treat it was to sing with our beautiful audience!

Artists like Dolly are the reason we keep making art, the reason art is respected. May there be ever more people in this world as truly generous. 💛

Rest in peace.

COMPOSER SPOTLIGHT! 🔦

Meet Edie Hill, one of our new favourite composers, who will be featured in our concert on July 5th!

***************************************

Described as “…bold…radiant, deftly crafted…” (Musical America), the music of Edie Hill is performed worldwide. Venues have included Lincoln Center, the Met Cloisters of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Walker Art Center, LA County Museum of Art, Library of
Congress, Annenberg Center Live Series in Philadelphia to name a few.

Hill is a three-time McKnight Artist Fellow and a two-time Bush Artist Fellow. She has received grants from the Jerome Foundation, ASCAP, Meet The Composer, New Music USA, and
Chamber Music America. She served as Composer in Residence at St. Paul’s Schubert Club from 2005-2017 where she ran the Mentorship Program for high school composers, as composer
mentor for MN Varsity (2018-2020), produced by Classical MPR and ACF and as a Mentor for GRAMMY U. Her music has been commercially recorded on Navona Records, Innova Recordings, Naxos and Furious Artisans labels.

Composing is a life-long love. Writing music is an opportunity to research, learn, muse, reach down deep, and allow inspiration to come from the stuff of life. Hill’s music is fueled by her
passions and curiosities.

She lives in Minnesota where she free-lances and runs Hummingbird Press through which all of her works are available for perusal or sale.
