We are very sad to hear this news. Les Coquettes send love to all who are near and dear to Jake.

On behalf of the family of Big Rude Jake / Jake Hiebert, it is with profound sadness that we share with you the news of his passing. Jake passed yesterday morning (June 16) at his home with his wife Anna-Lisa and daughter Hope, by his side.

At this time, we ask that you respect their time of grieving by not reaching out directly to the family. Your sharing of stories, love and support by way of social media are welcomed.

Visitation and funeral information will be made public as they become confirmed.

BETA READERS WANTED FOR LA MINOUCHE'S NOVEL:
I'm looking for a very particular type of reader for my completed novel. My ideal reader:

- is female
- loves reading
- appreciates grittier, sexy women's fiction (think Erica Jong)
- LOVES superhero stories and is well versed in the comic book world
- Amazing, but not necessary, is a woman of color

My book is the origin story of a washed up actress who is recruited by an elite team of superhero mercenaries posing as a cirque burlesque troupe. Yes, it's as playful and crazy as it sounds. It's about 104k long.

I'm not fussy if you don't have a lot of beta-reading experience, but I do need betas who spend a lot of time reading for their own pleasure. Beta reading simply means you're reading the book and letting me know what you loved, and what you didn't love, just as an average reader would. You're not reading for grammar or copy edits. I'll ask you to sign an NDA, which I'll provide, and I'll need your notes back by April 1st.
