It is with the most profound sadness that I must tell you that Sophie passed away at home, in her own time, quietly and gently, on March 24th. She was 13-and-a-half years old. I miss her more than I can say, and I am so grateful that she was mine.🩶

Me and my little sister Sybil were like this. And then nine years later, out of nowhere, she started bullying me. After a year of this and trying everything to change Sybil's behaviour, my Woman re-homed her with the help of my fairy-godmother Beryl, and Sybil now lives as an only-cat with a family who adores and spoils her.♥

It's been a fraught couple of weeks. My Woman noticed I had lost some weight (2 whole pounds!) and I was drinking and eating ravenously. I was treated for a UTI, and my Woman insisted on x-rays in addition to blood work. Turns out I have early-stage kidney disease and some spondylitis at the base of my spine. I have to switch to a special diet and be more closely monitored, as my Woman wants me to live pain-free and as long as possible, because she loves me and I'm her best girl.♥

OMC, YES! It has been a bad year for me too, and I'm glad it's over! A couple of weeks ago, my bully of a sister went to live with a lovely friend of my Woman's, and the very next day I was back to my old self, no more being stalked and harassed and hiding in the closet all day and night. It's nice to snuggle with and sit on my Woman again. I know she missed me terribly. I hope the new year brings you all good things.♥
