'Why Female' is a collaborative exploration between Joey Eddy, Lauren Runions, Kylie Thompson, Jenn Edwards, Sarah Keokkeok, Shelby Wright and musician Gabrielle Charron-Merritt. The project is centered around the female mind and body. We use personal attributes to approach the work and empower what it means to be gentle, open, sensitive and aware. The work shows personal decision making, directness and ways to occupy space as an individual. New bodies will be joining the work shortly in order to present a less homogenized image of dance. Nyda Kwasowsky and Andrea Nann are with us tomorrow! '

Hi! Today we are performing with Jay9 Dance Projects for Unboxed at The Toronto Fringe Festival. Jamee is so excited to share her first solo since returning to Toronto in October! Jamee's solo deals with clothing restrictions and how we can share many aspects of self regardless of wardrobe. It is a liberating vignette among 7 wonderful pieces performed by the five female dancers. She is also featured in the opening number of the show, a trio dealing with the boxes society hands to us. COME SEE US, WE HAVE 7 SHOWS!

Announcing PARTICIPATING ARTISTS in the CHOREOGRAPHIC MARATHON. Today... JAMEE VALIN currently works as a solo dance artist, choreographer, educator, performer and producer. Jamee trained at York University and George Brown College for Dance Performance Studies and Fine Arts Cultural Studies as well as mentored with Dreamwalker Dance Company, Project CPR, MascallDance, PuSh Festival, National Artist Program, and the Cultch Ignite! Dance Mentorship. She has performed and choreographed for Dance: Made in Canada, Dusk Dances, Dancing on the Edge, ROMP!, 12 Minutes Max and many more. Jamee’s work has a distinct physicality, which explores technical form and whole body expressions. Miss Valin is a co-producer for To.Be.Announced in Vancouver, BC and Artistic Director of Valence Movement (dance theatre).
