Sometimes, when you meet someone for the first time, you just know. That was how it was when we first met.

Our life together over the past twenty-two years has been a wild adventure. We have built a business, shared our home over the years with three beautiful Dachshunds, along with Luna, our little Cornish Rex hairless cat.

We have moved our business, travelled, and spent much time in Prince Edward County, where we now have a home and another location. It has been a wild and crazy ride, and it has been great.

Today, we celebrate seven years of marriage. On September 3, we will celebrate twenty-two years together. From our very first date, we have never left each other’s side.

In Issue 6 of ArtHouse Magazine, discover Janne Reuss’s practice at the intersection of photography, collage, and sculpture. Through Replanted, Reuss considers displacement, identity, and belonging, using the resilience of plant life to reflect on the emotional architecture of place.

A little pause before an exciting new season.

Akasha Art Projects will be closed from August 30th to September 7th for our annual closure, a chance for our team to refresh, recharge and get inspired for the fall season ahead.

Where photographic vision meets the precision of print.

Our fine art printing studio recently worked with Toronto fine art photographer Gun Roze to produce fine art prints from THE BASEMENT PROJECT, a deeply personal series defined by grain, movement, and the expressive possibilities of black and white.

Created in the low light of the artist’s basement, the photographs move between abstraction and the human form. Softened silhouettes emerge through shadow, giving the series its atmospheric and timeless quality.

Each print was produced with close attention to tonal depth, texture, and detail, preserving the distinctive character of Roze’s work as it moved from screen to paper.

Published by Denmark based art book publisher Snap Collective, THE BASEMENT PROJECT is a softcover photo art book featuring 176 images. It is available exclusively through the publisher’s online shop at a discounted price until July 29.

An evening celebrating art, community, and the continued support of women’s voices.

Hosted at Verity Toronto Women’s Club, an organization that has championed women’s professional and personal growth for more than two decades, the opening reception for the Verity Club Art Collective Exhibition welcomed artists, collectors, members, and supporters of Toronto’s creative community.

Curated by Gail Hill, the exhibition features more than 50 works presented across two floors of the historic club, showcasing a diverse range of artistic practices and media. The exhibition offers a thoughtful exploration of contemporary artistic expression while highlighting the important role that creative spaces play in fostering connection, dialogue, and cultural engagement.

An evening where art, fashion, and collecting converged.

It was a pleasure to attend the opening reception of Curate and Covet's inaugural installation at Holt Renfrew Yorkdale. Curated by Anna Church and situated within the Personal Shopping Suite, the presentation offers an elegant introduction to collecting, where painting and photography come together in thoughtful dialogue.

A particular highlight of the evening was hearing Mia Nielsen of Nielsen and Company speak on the enduring rewards of art collecting, offering insight into how collections are built and why living with art continues to shape our spaces and perspectives.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this vision to life. A beautiful reminder that collecting begins with connection.

Presented as part of Nuit Rose Festival, The Green Hours brings together a remarkable group of artists whose works move through the cultivated and the wild, the rooted and the migratory, exploring the many ways we connect to the natural world.

Across painting, photography, textiles, and works on paper, the exhibition unfolds as an immersive landscape of growth, transformation, and possibility. Rich in texture and layered in meaning, the works invite us to consider nature not as backdrop, but as a living participant in how we experience ourselves and one another.

What a privilege to have our Prince Edward County studio featured in the new HGTV show, The County hosted by designer Sarah Keenlyside.

We were delighted to have worked with artist Anna Church and designer Kate Lavender, consulting on the framing and presentation of Anna’s stunning work.
Every decision, from the frame selection to the clarity of the glass, was made to honour the integrity of the piece, allowing the work itself to remain fully in focus.

The finished piece now lives within Kelly and Jay’s featured renovation, a beautifully reimagined kitchen, where art and interior quietly settle into one another.

A thoughtful moment within the evolving design landscape of Prince Edward County.
