Learn the simple art of weaving a Khaat! A Khaat is a woven piece of furniture that has been used for over 5000 years in the Indian subcontinent. The interlaced tana (warp) and bana (weft) makes for a flexible structure that offers comfort for both sitting and reclining.
Join us to learn the basics of weaving on our life-sized communal khaat and to learn how to make your own miniature khaat!

At the end of each month, as Birds of a Feather’s storytelling evening comes to a close, we get to experience a very special tradition. Storyteller and host Rubena Sinha leads us in reciting this beautiful poem, leaving us with a shared experience and a lasting warmth in our hearts. We have been lucky to experience this tradition every month for over a year now!

This is a clip from last month’s storytelling evening, featuring Rubena, Sarah Abusarar, and Diana Tso leading us through that poem.

Join us on Saturday May 30th from 4-6pm for another evening of storytelling. This month’s theme is Mother’s Day.
