Lorraine is Afrifab Designs. I handcraft Home decor items (throw pillows, duvet covers) and kitchen essentials (aprons, napkins, table runners) as well as totes & bags, using African fabrics & motifs exclusively.
"I relocated from Columbus Ohio to Toronto in the 80s and began my music career as a vocalist & writer. My (along w/my husband Albert)original compositions earned 3 JUNO nominations in the R&B category. I started designing funky hats to wear on stage and in videos. In 98 I opened a retail space named Back in the Hat, inside the Ashanti Room in Mirvish Village and expanded my creations to include Home decor, bags & dining essentials. In the early aughts BITH became Afrifab Designs."

Hannah Sandler was born in Toronto, Canada with a BFA in fibers from the savannah college of art and design achieved in 2023. Hannah is a textile, pattern and color designer working towards bringing playfulness and optimism to diverse worlds through a circular lens. her work is centered around the cross-functional joys of material, pattern, texture and colour and the hand of the maker. inspired by the power of creativity and design, Hannah’s work references the past, present and the future. her work aims to evoke emotion in her audience and urges them to widen and grow their perceptions of value placed on the world around us and everything within it. Hannah invites you to think, reflect and analyze the processes by which we create and consume in hopes to shine light on a future world filled with possibility and hope.

One Story, Four Places is a cross-hub interactive storytelling project inspired by the memories, stories and spirit of our communities throughout all four ArtHubs spaces.

Come explore , on Nuit Blanche to wander, share your thoughts and see how our collective memories can become a part of something larger.

Then, throughout October, visit to experience the project and add your own story.
