ANIMAL, VEGETABLE, MINERAL 🐚🌿🪨
Opens tomorrow!
A ceramic exhibition marking the culmination of the 2025 FUSION Mentorship with Toronto ceramic artist Julie Moon

Over eight months, twelve emerging and mid-career artists worked closely with Julie on form and surface decoration - refining their creative voices, strengthening technical skills, and exploring new directions in clay. The result is a body of work that reflects a year of growth, experimentation, and dialogue, spanning both functional and sculptural pieces.

Hosted by Jennifer Kerbel Poirier, founder of Vessels + Sticks , a curated gallery presenting contemporary ceramics that push structure, material, and form beyond traditional expectations.

🗓️ October 3–24, 2026

SURFACE STORIES COLLECTIVE: AN EXPLORATION OF CERAMIC SURFACE

Exhibition opening reception tomorrow, July 24th 6-10pm

Gallery 1065 (Bloor + Dufferin) Gallery 1065
July 24 - August 2
Artist talk: Sunday July 26, 2 - 3 pm

Surface Stories Collective brings together a cohort of non-ceramic artists who stepped beyond their usual practices to explore the possibilities of ceramic surface design. Through hands-on workshops and collaborative studio sessions, each artist transformed new ideas into unexpected works. The exhibition showcases these original creations while revealing the experimentation, exchange, and creative discoveries that shaped the journey.
