Tranzac Holiday Gift Fair, 292 Brunswick Avenue, Toronto, ON (2026)

Typically mid-October we'd be gearing up for Tranzac Holiday Gift Fair, featuring three weekends of vendors (nearly 100 a year!) in Tranzac's Living Room and Main Hall. This year for various reasons, some logistical, some personal, Tranzac Holiday Gift Fair is taking a year off.

It takes a lot of work to make a craft fair happen, and I'd like to thank the Tranzac staff and board, my helpers, Santas, volunteers and friends and most of all the incredible artists and artisans who participated over the years and all of those who came through to buy presents -- a special thanks to the repeat visitors; you know who you are!

I know it's only just the week before Halloween, but please as we approach the end of the year (and in general) go to craft fairs and support local artists.

I am not sure yet whether or not I will have the capacity to run an event in 2025; or if someone else might decide to run one. Stay tuned ...

I leave you with a design we didn't use back in 2018 (one of the animals was swapped out) by Shannon Partridge, who also designed some of Tranzac's older t-shirts.

The final weekend of the Tranzac Holiday Gift Fair is just around the corner! A great chance to grab all your last min gifts from awesome vendors including:

- "The Beer You Can Eat,” a collection of beer jellies made with local craft beer. Our beer jellies are the perfect companion for your cheese and charcuterie board. They are also delicious for breakfast, tea time and snacking, meats, or for that unique taste in dishes. Dec 16 and 17.

- Robyn LeBlanc is an artist and crafter who enjoys spending her free time creating detailed and colourful macrame items such as decorative wall hangings, plant hangers, lanyards, wristlets, keychains and more. Dec 17 only.

- Creating beautiful products with natural ingredients to benefit everyone’s body. Dec 17 only.

- Wenting Things is the eclectic handmade goods and seasonal card shop of illustrator & artist Wenting Li. Wenting Things is inspired by: getting postcards from friends in the mail, collected curios displayed in letterpress wall cabinets, lightly haunted items. Dec 16 only.

knots.macrame - Using simple, eco-friendly cotton to create minimalist, boho chic art, decor and accessories using the craft of macrame. Dec 16 only.

Tatiana Kozlov Design - Tatiana makes washable 100% cotton pouches, eye masks, headbands, scrunchies, totes and cushion covers, inspired by colour and exciting patterns. Dec 16 and 17.

- Statement earrings for those who like unique accessories and like to stand out from the crowd. People, colour, shapes inspire me to make what I make.

holler - Bright Holler is founded by two herbalist friends with a dream of creating a new herbal community network. We create small-batch, organic tinctures and hydrosols with locally-sourced and home-grown herbs. At the fair Dec 16 and 17.

A Real Gem - Textile artist inspired by the great outdoors and the colours of nature, customers and the textiles themselves. Dec 16 and 17.

- Handmade natural cosmetics, aromatherapy and cosmetic making supplies including organic ingredients, 500+ ethically sourced essential oils, and dozens of clays, oils, micas, packaging and housewares that are alternatives to plastics, and other Earth and people-friendly goodies. Dec 16 and 17.

- 2d and 3d stained glass pieces inspired by everyday life and images. Dec 16 only.
essentials - Lune's Essentials (LE) produces small batch handmade ceramic wares for the house and body. Jewellery, wall hangings and items with intention for protection and ritual are currently in production. Dec 16 only.

poems - Cabinetmaker by trade, a love of trees inspires the process for these (wood)shop poems. Made with wood remnants or salvage wood, these items are built through wood-bending and gouge-carving, two very hands-on crafts that require a deep understanding of the material. calla - The beauty and nature of Arts are revealed in our preserved flower decorations, pressed flower photo frames, crochet earrings, keychains, postcards, and more. Dec 10 only.

- A non-profit rabbit rescue that helps domestic rabbits in need and finds them forever homes. Dec 10 only.

- Shokunin Handworks is a one-person creative effort focused on making unique, handmade macrame accessories and jewelry art pieces, such as earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. Dec 10 only.

- Studio Simmone makes useful items that are hand-sewn using colourful prints. At the fair Dec 9, 10, 16 and 17.

- A pandemic discovery of natural ink making and bookbinding. Cards, notebooks, journals and paintings featuring homemade inks. Dec 10 only.
ca - Sandra designs and intricately hand-makes a unique line of artisan jewelry inspired by the colours, patterns, and textures of Czech glass, Japanese seed beads, semi-precious stones and more. Dec 10 and 16.

- Hmldesigns creates unique hand blocked tams/fascinators. Gordana's hand creations are beautiful wool felted accent scarves. Dec 10 and 17.

- Kate Davies makes paintings with watercolour and gouache on paper and create cards, prints, stickers and bookmarks of my artwork. A central theme in her work is animals, particularly rabbits. Dec 10, 16 and 17.

- 'pocket works for the apocalypse' is an ongoing series of small paintings on hand built ceramics. The images created are dreamlike interpretations of places and people; each alludes to a bigger story, while exploring subtle moments of relation and transformation. The handheld size and wearable form offers a tangible connection to the body. Dec 10 only.

ca - Queen Candles Canada is a woman-owned, all-natural vegan soy candle company with 15+ unique candle scents that are topped with a variety of ethically sourced healing crystals, natural dried flowers, and eco-friendly glitter. They also hand make vegan soy wax pillar candles in a variety of scents, colours, and shapes. At the fair Dec 9 and 10.

***rdobykiki - QUEERDO by kiki, ceramics made by q***r hands for q***r hearts. "I make handmade wheelthrown ceramics centering my q***r community. My hope is to bring joy into the mundane through my work and the use of it." Dec 9 only.

- Creating handmade, vegan products, many with recyclable materials, with partial proceeds supporting local rabbit rescues. Dec 9, 10, 16 and 17.

- With a love of baking, Sheileen’s Sweets was started to help deal with grief. Baking inspired by their moms and nana’s love of baking and from old recipes pased down. Dec 9 and 10.

- "I am a Canadian gal who loves to make monsters and paintings and jewelry. I love to see people finding the right monster for them." Dec 9 only.

- Jewelry made with wire, semiprecious beads, beach glass, wood, beach stones and polymer clay. Inspired by the natural wold and by whimsical humor. And cats. Dec 9 and 16.

- Greeting cards created to spread awareness of bird window collisions. 5% of proceeds go to local charities such as FLAP Canada and Toronto Wildlife Centre. Dec 9 only.

Amanda Kellam Arts - Handmade polymer clay jewelry including the Grumpy Bunnies and other creatures, some of which glow in the dark. Dec 9 only.

- Handmade jewellery - mainly from seed beads. Inspired by their Eastern European culture, nature (jellyfish & sealife mainly), music, family, and friends. Dec 9 and 10.

- Indie Glo was born from a fascination with the art of Hand Block Printing when a visit to the textile cottage industry in India where the ancient art of printing, using hand carved wooden blocks originated. Dec 9 only.

The Tranzac Holiday Gift Fair is back this weekend with lots of amazing new vendors, including the following:

- Animal inspired watercolor designs and illustrations. At the fair Dec 9 only.

- Hand screenprinted t-shirts, tote bags, pouches and other accessories featuring original designs adapted from their own travel and nature photography. At the fair Dec 9 and 10.

- Connie's Kitchen Farm is a small-scale production in Mono, ON, featuring seasonal flows of Italian cuisine, market produce, honey, and maple syrup. At the market we are presenting the farm's 'Mono In Bloom' honey bee products which include raw and liquid honeys, creamed, infused, and hot honeys, honey comb, and beeswax candles. At the fair Dec 9 and 17.

- Jewelry with great prices and quality finishing. At the fair Dec 9 and 10.

- Digital collages printed on watercolour paper and hand stitched, also available as greeting cards and posters. At the fair Dec 9 only.

- Dioramas features locally in the Annex. They are lighthearted, but explore some of the challenges we face as a society. At the fair Dec 9, 10, 16 and 17.
