Celebrating 50 years of community tennis!🎉🎾

The Barrie Community Tennis Club (BCTC) is celebrating a major milestone — 50 years of tennis, community and fellowship!

On September 13, BCTC marked the occasion with a year-end BBQ alongside former and current members, the Deputy Mayor of Barrie and local dignitaries. The celebration reflected on the club’s history, growth and lasting impact on the local tennis community.

🎾 Today, BCTC operates out of Queen’s Park with 4 tennis courts and offers a wide range of programming, including:
🏆 Tournaments and ladders
🎾 Social play and round robins
💪 Adult skill development
👧 Summer kids’ camps

Through the years, BCTC has continued to adapt and grow while working closely with the City of Barrie to overcome challenges and keep community tennis thriving.

This year, BCTC was also recognized with the OTA Outstanding Club Achievement Award for its continued commitment to programming, competition and community engagement!

Congratulations to everyone who has helped make 50 years of BCTC possible. Here’s to many more years of tennis and community!

📸 Thanks to BCTC’s Heidi Berry for the story and photos!

Happy 50th Anniversary, BCTC!
