🎾 Girls. Set. Match. Takes Over the NBO!

It was a week to remember for Girls. Set. Match. (GSM) at the National Bank Open!

The OTA, in partnership with Tennis Canada and led by GSM Coordinator Ashley Spironello, hosted two special experiences at Sobeys Stadium.

⭐ 12 young girls from Orangeville Tennis Club took part in a GSM session on the practice courts—and received an unforgettable surprise when Iga Świątek stopped by to take photos and sign autographs!

🎾 On another day, girls from Headwaters Fitness & Racquet Club showcased GSM with a special demonstration on Centre Court before a tournament match.

From the practice courts to Centre Court, these girls made memories that will last a lifetime!

A huge thank you to everyone helping inspire the next generation of girls in tennis!

Community Tennis Leagues Take Over the NBO!🎾

The OTA and Tennis Canada hosted a special 2-day Community Tennis Leagues (CTL) event at the National Bank Open, giving 32 players the chance to play singles on the NBO practice courts!

After the matches, players enjoyed refreshments, prizes, a behind-the-scenes stadium tour and evening NBO action.

All CTL matches count toward a player’s World Tennis Number (WTN), helping players connect with others at their level and find more meaningful competition.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported CTL and WTN!

Join us at Tanglewood Park on Friday, August 28 at 6:30 p.m. as we celebrate the final week of the Capital Kids Tennis Program and recognize the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, whose grant helped make this year’s program possible!

Expect a fun-filled evening with on-court activities, contests, the Smash Cage, prizes, snacks and refreshments!

What a showing from Team Ontario! Ontario athletes captured 3 of the 4 national titles and reached the final in the fourth, with an incredible 7 of 8 finalists representing Ontario!

Erin Routliffe is a WTA 500 champion!🏆🎾

Congratulations to former OTA junior star Erin Routliffe and her partner Aldila Sutjiadi on capturing the Women’s Doubles title at the Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, D.C.!

The second-seeded pair defeated Andreja Klepač and Makoto Ninomiya 6-4, 6-1 in the final.

Congratulations Erin and Aldila on an incredible tournament! 👏
