TONIGHT: Dixie Chicken Brings the Music of Little Feat to The Redwood Theatre – May 8, 2026
Toronto, ON — On Friday, May 8, 2026, audiences in Toronto are invited to experience the rich, genre-blending sound of Little Feat as celebrated by Dixie Chicken, a dynamic seven-piece tribute band, live at The Redwood Theatre (1300 Gerrard St E).
Doors open at 7:00 p.m., with the show running from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Dixie Chicken is a Toronto-based ensemble dedicated to preserving and performing the music of Little Feat, the influential roots rock group known for its unique fusion of Southern rock, funk, blues, and jazz. Taking its name from the band’s iconic 1973 hit “Dixie Chicken,” the group delivers an authentic and energetic live experience inspired by both studio recordings and legendary live performances such as Waiting for Columbus.
The band is led by guitarist and vocalist John Fraser Findlay, a lifelong Little Feat enthusiast with a personal connection to the group. Findlay has collaborated with Little Feat co-founder and keyboardist Bill Payne, who appeared on his 2013 instrumental jazz and blues album IN2 The Spirit. Driven by a passion to reintroduce Little Feat’s music to modern audiences, Findlay assembled a lineup of some of Toronto’s most accomplished musicians.
