Hello Friends!

It was really good to meet some of you at the May 2nd opening of World in a City at the Heliconian Club. This is a reminder that we have a second public opening tomorrow, May 13th, from 4:30-7pm at the Heliconian hall, 35 Hazelton Ave.

This opening is special in that we have some artists from the group who will talk about their work. Artists Georgia, Shams, Dionne, Martha and Kyungmin will say a few words about their work, and we will have an open mic for other artists to talk to the group as well, about their practice or the specific works in this show.

We will have snacks as well. In the spirit of the club and the show, this is a potluck, so members providing snacks for the event and guests are welcome to contribute as well.

🎨🇲🇽 ¡Invitamos a niñas y niños de Ontario y Manitoba a participar en el ### Concurso de Dibujo Infantil “Este es mi México” 2026!

La Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores, a través del Instituto de Mexicanas y Mexicanos en el Exterior (IMME), convoca a niñas y niños de entre 6 y 14 años, a plasmar en un dibujo la temática: “La fiesta mexicana que celebras” ✨

Una oportunidad para compartir, a través del arte, las tradiciones, colores y celebraciones que hacen único a México.

📢 Publicación de resultados: 14 de agosto de 2026

Hello! I wanted to share with you this incredible art exhibition, "A World in the City," where Tanya Murdoch and Doris Purchase, co-organizers of the event, invited me to participate. I want to express my gratitude to them and share my excitement with you. I'm so happy to see the wonderful work of so many artists and artworks in this space, which I hope you can visit during these spring days! It would be great to see you there enjoying the moment with me and all of us!

I invite you to the openings; please share them with your family and friends. We are so proud of the work done and the energy surrounding these magnificent works of art. This installation represents our inspiration for what we call our home in Toronto, a city where we all live together!

There will be two days of open gatherings with amazing guest artists who will talk about their work! Saturday, May 2nd, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Wednesday, May 13th, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM

Heliconian Hall will also be celebrating! Open to the public in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the historic Heliconian Hall.

Saturday, May 16th, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM

In addition, we will be participating in:
Doors Open Toronto - Saturday, May 24th, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and we will have special artists and guides who will explain the works on display during the event.

A dream, "A World in the City," come true. I promise it will be an excellent and interesting exhibition.

Heliconian Hall is located at 35 Hazelton Ave., in Yorkville. If you're coming by public transport (TTC), exit Bay Station via the Cumberland entrance and head north down the alley for another block and a half. There's a loading zone in front of the building. If you're visiting by car, parking is very strict; there's paid street parking or underground parking nearby.

Hola! Quiero compartir con ustedes esta increíble exposición de arte "Un Mundo en la Ciudad", donde Tanya Murdoch y Doris Purchase, coorganizadoras del evento, me invitaron a participar. Quiero compartir mi agradecimienta a ellas y mi emoción con ustedes. Estoy muy alegre de ver el maravilloso trabajo de tantos artistas y obras de arte en este espacio, al que espero puedas visitar en estos dias primaverales¡ Será genial verles por allí disfrutando del momento conmigo y con todas nosotras!

Les invito a las inauguraciones, compartan con su familia y amigos. Estamos muy orgullosas del trabajo realizado y la energia alrededor de estas magnificas obras de arte. Esta instalación representa nuestra inspiración para lo que llamamos nuestro hogar en Toronto, una ciudad donde todos convivimos!

Habrán dos dias de convivencia abiertas al público: Grandiosas artistas invitadas que hablarán sobre sus obras!

El Heliconian Hall también estará de fiesta! Abierto al público en la celebración del 150 aniversario del histórico Heliconian Hall).

Además, participaremos en:
Doors Open Toronto -Sabado 24 de Mayo de 10:00 am - 4:00 pm y contaremos con artistas y guías especiales que explicarán las obras expuestas durante el evento.

El Heliconian Hall se encuentra en 35 Hazelton Ave., en Yorkville. Si vienes en transporte público (TTC), sal de la estación Bay por la entrada de Cumberland y dirígete al norte por el callejón y camina una cuadra y media más. Hay una zona de carga y descarga frente al edificio, Y si nos visitas en automobile el estacionamiento es muy estricto, hay estacionamiento de pago en la calle o estacionamiento subterráneo cerca.
