【Resonance of Dunhuang】
A road that connects the East and the West,
A line that traverses through time,
A symphony that bridges civilizations,
A bond that links you and me;
A wish, a blessing,
A melody, a mural;
The aspiration of a traveler:
Resonate, harmonize.

Two thousand years of time,
Seven thousand miles of journey,
All converge at this moment, in this place:
May the future be bright,
Roads open,
And people at peace.

With the theme of ’Resonance of Dunhuang‘, this concert uses music to highlight the cultural convergence and continuity between Dunhuang and Hong Kong. Acting as a medium that connects the past, present and future, music transforms the rich visual and cultural essence of the Mogao Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, into a contemporary musical experience. Dunhuang, located in Gansu Province, China, is a vital passage on the ancient Silk Road and a world-renowned temple of human culture and art. The beauty of Dunhuang culture is not only etched in its murals and painted sculptures but also flows through its millennia-old music and dance.

During the Dunhuang International Cultural and Art Exhibition in Toronto, the Dunhuang Ancient Music Ensemble from Dunhuang, China, performed a flash mob in front of Niagara Falls. Dunhuang art, traversing the winds and sands, met Niagara Falls; the music of the ancient Silk Road resonated with the world‘s largest waterfall.
