CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS!

This year, our annual competition, Prove You're a Comic, takes place from September 29th to November 1st, 2026.

Every Tuesday, 9 comics start and the top 5 (decided by a panel of judges) perform on Wednesday and Thursday. Winner of the week is determined by audience vote and moves on to the finals.

In the finals, the winner of each week plus one Wild Card/House Pick chosen by the club owner will perform every night. Winner of the competition is determined by audience vote throughout the week.

Grand prize is $500 and a week of paid shows at both Absolute Comedy locations. $250 for second place.

To apply: e-mail your headshot, a short bio, an online video link to one of your sets (~5-7 minutes) to:

Please include your availability for the four heats:
Heat 1: Sept 29 - Oct 1, 2026
Heat 2: Oct 6 - 8, 2026
Heat 3: Oct 13 - 15, 2026
Heat 4: Oct 20 - 22, 2026

All entrants must be available for their designated preliminary week and Finals Week, October 27th - November 1st, 2026. Finalists will be compensated for Finals Week.

Submissions are open to comics in the Greater Toronto area, who have not yet performed regularly at MC or Feature level (at a professional credible club), and were not a finalist in last year's competition.

Deadline for submissions is the end of Sunday, September 13th, 2026.
