Huge congratulations to Guillermo del Toro on being honoured with the BFI Fellowship.

Friends and collaborators gathered last week to celebrate a true master of cinematic storytelling who blends imagination, humanity, and horror with such mastery. Pictured here with the Board of the BFI.

His work across animation and live action in both Spanish and English has had an extraordinary impact on the global film industry. We're proud that our stages at Pinewood Toronto Studios have been home to sets created for his films Frankenstein (2025), Crimson Peak (2015) and Pacific Rim (2013).

Opened by Mayor of Toronto Olivia Chow, the day saw 1,500 young people and career changers join us on the lot at Pinewood Toronto Studios to discover pathways into careers including make up, camera and VFX. Thanks to everyone who joined us and all the industry experts who brought the world of filmmaking to life in the heart of Downtown Toronto

Guillermo del Toro’s 'Frankenstein' has taken home three Academy Awards for Costume Design, Production Design and Make-Up and Hairstyling, proving that a story born from the gothic imagination of Mary Shelley can still electrify audiences generations later. ⚡️
